I had APR surgery to treat anal cancer a week ago. I did not know they would be sewing my bum closed. OMG, how long does this awful pain last?
I assume you are still in hospital? Not knowing exactly what is happening with you I suggest talking about this to your surgical team who will be best placed to give you the correct information. In general, pain after major surgery improves each day and most people are able to leave hospital after about a week.
