NHS worker. Advice on COVID-19

Posted by

Hi. I was diagnosed 14 years ago with CLL. Still on watch and wait, platelets down on last review. I work in medical engineering in an NHS hospital which has just had its first confirmed case of COVID-19. Any advice about my exposure dangers would be appreciated. Thanks. Andy

Hi Andy,

A worrying time indeed. Blood wise issued new guidance on Monday following the PM and CMOs advice to cancer sufferers. This is it https://bloodwise.org.uk/blog/coronavirus-and-blood-cancer

I would however, contact your local support line and they will be able to give you advice specific to your case and history. Other than that, the usual general guidance should be followed.

Stay safe and ring that helpline
