Hi, my employers are being awful to me at the moment, they cant sack me for time off work so theyre now making false allegations against me.
my question is ; can the stress make my BCR/ABL numbers to start rising? I had been undetectable for 6 months then during the stress my numbers have risen, could this be the reason?
I am sorry to here that you are having a difficult time. Stress is never good for anyone, however, there has been no identified link between stress and rising BCR/ABL results. Unless you have been forgetting to take your medication due to stress.
No i haven't forgotten to take my medication, just a coincidence that my numbers have risen at the same time then.
I hope you don't mind me responding here - my name's Ellen and I work on Macmillan's Community team. I hope you've found Caroline's answer to be helpful and that you're finding the Community a warm and supportive place to be.
I wanted to respond to you here as I noticed you mentioned that you've been having some issues with your employer. It sounds as though you're going through an incredibly difficult time just now and may benefit from some extra support. I wondered if you had seen our 'Ask a Work Support Adviser' session on the Community? It's a place where you can ask any questions you might have about work and cancer and they can give you information, support and guidance about your rights at work. They'll aim to respond within 1 working day.
If you'd prefer to speak to them in person, they're available on our Support Line, 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday on freephone 0808 808 00 00.
I hope some of this helps but if you'd like any further information or support then please do not hesitate to get back in touch.
