  • Hi all
  • I have only had this put in about 4 weeks ago. I have been looking with no luck for some sort of cover that would hide it in public but mainly so I don't have the tube hanging down. It has to have some sort of entry at the back to go over the plastic round cover. Thanks for reading any advice appreciated.
  • Hello Hels bells

Thank you for reaching out for support to us here at Macmillan Cancer Support.  My name is Rae and I am one of the cancer information nurse specialists.

Have you spoken to your clinical nurse specialist or team about a cover?  Often they know of local resources that you can order from.  Unfortunately we are not able to promote any one company, but I have done a internet search ‘cover for gastric tube’ and a variety of options are available.

You have not let me know your cancer diagnosis, but you could post a question on a forum such as the head and neck cancer forum to see if anyone else uses a cover and where they purchased it from.

It is important that you feel comfortable with your tube, especially out in public.  I hope that you find something suitable.  Please do call our support line if you wish to discuss this or any other aspects of your treatment or care.  When we receive a cancer diagnosis and are receiving treatment, it is so important to look after both our physical and emotional health.  One of the ways that you can do that is to talk to either friends, family or a healthcare professional.  The Cancer Care Map also enables you to search for local or national support frameworks relevant to your diagnosis.  There are also local Macmillan cancer information and support In Your Area.

    Best wishes

    Rae, Cancer Information Nurse Specialist
