I have secondary kidney cancer but am in reasonably good health. I have bone secondary and a couple of lung nodules that are being kept an eye on. I have had a flu jab and have been offered a pneumonia jab. Is this also recommended?
Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the online community.
It’s the right thing to do to always check that it is safe for you to have immunisations or start new medication in light of your condition.
Unfortunately, we do not have access to your records and are not part of your care so cannot advise directly if it is safe for you to have the pneumonia jab. It is important to check with your consultant if they are happy and feel this is safe for you to receive this. They are the people in charge of co ordinating your care needs.
Best wishes and take care.
