Thanks for your post, and welcome to the online community. I hope you’ve had a look around and I wonder if our CLL group might be helpful to join. The support, and hints and tips from others in a similar situation can be invaluable.
It sounds as if you’ve been going through a bit of time with your blood counts. Because you have symptoms that are troubling you if you haven’t spoken to anyone about them or if they worsening we’d recommend contacting your specialist team now, and not wait till September. This is so they can assess you and see the best way of controlling your symptoms.
The best way of managing anaemia will depend on your blood level, the cause of it being low and how it’s affecting you. We wouldn’t recommend taking any over the counter treatments or supplements without medical advice. So, it’s important to speak with your hospital or GP beforehand.
Tiredness is common. Our information about managing fatigue might be helpful to read over. If we have a support centre near you it might be worth popping in there too. They can often arrange complimentary therapies to help boost energy levels and well-being.
I’m not sure how long you’ve been diagnosed, but as well as our information, there’s also the CLL Support Association for guidance.
If we can help with further information or support please don’t hesitate to be in touch. And if you’d like to speak with our support line staff we’d be happy to hear from you.
Take care, Linda (Cancer Information Nurse Specialist)
Hi Linda ,
Many thanks for your reply .
I have just joined the cancer support group in Liverpool ,Sunflowers, and they were very helpful
and had my blood pressure taken .
It was 118 over 57 so thats not bad for a 78 year old .
