Lipomodelling after mastectomy

Posted by

Has anyone had lipomodelling after mastectony and reconstruction with gel implant. The consultant said it would help with the shape and size. I am scared stiff so not sure if it is worth having this done.

Hi Minsky,

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

Lipomodelling is a procedure that they use to improve the appearance of dents or change the outline of the breast.

The technique uses fat taken by liposuction from one part of the body and is then injected into the breast. This is normally done under general anesthetic and may have to be repeated a few times to get the right shape. You may be a little sore after the procedure, but this soon wears off.

I have noticed you have posted in the online community, but nobody has got back to you.

Breast cancer care offer a service called someone like me this is when you can speak to someone who is in a similar situation as yourself. I wonder if this is something you might benefit from.

Sometimes, it can help to talk to one of our nurses on our Support Line about what is happening. If you think that would be helpful to do you can call us on 0808-808-0000. Our lines are open Monday to Friday 8am till 8pm.

I hope this is helpful. Please do get back in touch if we can be of any more help.

Best wishes
