I am hoping you can give us some information on immunotherapy, my husband has had chemotherapy and radiotherapy for lung cancer with great success which he finished 20 days ago .
The consultant has now suggested immunotherapy as the next stage of the treatment every two weeks
I have searched for information on the interne but can’t find anything about side effects , do you have any information you can share
Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the Online Community.
I can see that you’ve also posed this question in our lung cancer group and that Albondingas and darlo have kindly shared their experiences of immunotherapy.
As Albondingas says, there are different immunotherapies used in lung cancer.
NICE guidelines govern the use of immunotherapy in the treatment of lung cancer in NHS England. You’ll see that there are several options, but they are considered in very specific circumstances.
The side effects of immunotherapy will differ from person to person but the most common side effects are discussed here.
I hope this information is helpful for you in having discussions with the consultant.
Please don’t hesitate to get back in touch if you have further questions or need more information. You are always welcome to call the support line. There are several specialist teams who can help with any clinical, emotional, financial or practical concerns.
