I was just wondering how long it takes for the Macmillan grant to be paid out . The website and application say few days but a lot of people saying up to 5 weeks ?

Hi Titchlj,

Unfortunately, it can vary a bit.  If there is sufficient medical evidence to go with the application and it is emailed directly to Macmillan, it would only take a few days (relying on a prompt postal system to deliver the cheque).  However, if the application needed to go via a medical professional for medical evidence, this can take a bit longer.

If you are worried about how long your grant is taking, please contact the person who completed the application on your behalf and they will check the progress of it for you.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

No problem.  If you haven't heard by the end of the week, give your Benefits Adviser a call to check everything is ok.

Kind regards
