skin graft surgery to remove bcc

Hi I'm not sure if its the right group to ask questions. 

I had a bcc removed from my scalp about 2 inch circle . skin taken from my leg  I had my 6 weeks check up and everything is healing fine  . My surgeon was a man of very few words and did a wonderful job  and will see him again in 6months .I wasnt given any information as to what to carry on doing till then do i still need to use mild shampoo and put aqueous cream on  daily .  Can I dye my hair ever again i  didnt realise I had so much grey  hair . Can I do any damage to the skin graft .  I tried to google for answer but  no success  and information would be useful

Thank you for asking a question in our ‘Ask an Expert’ session, here on the Community Team we appreciate that you want to ask our specialists medical questions and talk to them about your concerns at this time.

In normal circumstances, we would forward your question on to our ‘Ask a nurse’ session for one of our Cancer Information Nurses to answer. Unfortunately, due to the number of questions being asked about Coronavirus, and the increase in demand on our services, we have currently closed our ‘Ask a nurse’ session here on the site.

If you feel it’s important to speak to a nurse over the phone, the Macmillan Support Line is open Monday – Friday 9am-5pm. Cancer Information Nurses, as well as other support professionals, will answer your calls and listen to your concerns.

You can call the Support Line free on 0808 808 00 00. Please bear in mind that due to the current situation with Coronavirus our phone lines are experiencing higher volumes of calls so it may not always be possible to speak with a nurse straight away.

You can also email our Cancer Information Nursing team by filling in this online form. Please bear in mind it may take longer that usual for our nurses to respond to emails. They are doing their best to respond to everyone, but are currently experiencing a higher level of demand on their service.  

If you are concerned about the health of yourself or a loved one, we would recommend calling your GP, the NHS on 111 or your team at the hospital.
