My mum has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer and was wondering who can I contact or get help with regards to finding out if she can claim for any financial support/benefits.
Thanks for getting in touch. I’m so sorry to hear about your mum’s diagnosis. I think it would be a great idea for you to call us on our support line on 0808 808 0000. We have a team of Welfare Rights Advisers available. They can provide advice in relation to any state benefits your mum may be entitled to, as well as exploring any potential grants. They are available on 0808 808 0000 Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and on Saturday & Sunday 9am to 5pm. When you call them, be ready with information about your income and outgoings. If you would prefer, they’re also available via Web Chat here.
There is also a team of Financial Guides. If you have any questions about other areas of personal finances such as Insurances, pensions or mortgages etc. they can answer these. The Financial Guides are available Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and again can be contacted on 0808 808 0000. I hope this provides you with the information that you need and we hope to hear from you soon.
