Benefit availability

Please come someone advise if i can apply for additional benefits i am already on universal credit as there is no income/work for me right now as a freelancer in the hospitality business and i have just been diagnosed with colon and liver cancer.  I will be having surgery and then 6 months chemo so effectively i cannot work till september.  Any help appreciated.

    To speak about any possible benefits you might be entitled to I’d like you to speak to our Welfare Rights Team. They’ll be able to do a full check for you. You can speak to them on freephone 0808 808 0000 and they’re available Monday – Friday 8am – 8pm and weekends 9am – 5pm. When you call they’ll ask for some details of your household income, savings and costs of rent/mortgage and utility bills so please have these to hand. You can also speak to them online here and select the “Welfare Benefits & Grants” option.
