Sarcoma spread to Lung

1 minute read time.
Well not so good news this week. After having my op to remove a sarcoma in my thigh (successfully) 4 months ago and then 6 weeks of radiotherapy, I had just started to get back to "normal" when I get the flu. At least I had flu like symptoms. Then I get a cough. Go to the doctors, he gives me antibiotics. 2 weeks go by cough getting worse and now I'm coughing up blood. He gives stronger antibiotics and sends me off for a chest X-ray. This coincides with my 3 month Chest X-ray and leg MRI scheduled by my consultant. They take one look at the X-ray and see shadowing in both lungs and call me in to hospital. Long story short, the sarcoma has spread to both lungs in 4 months! Immediately they start me on chemo, Doxorubicin. Once every 21 days for 6 cycles. I'm also on Dexamethasone, which I think is the steroid and Ondansetron which is an anti-sickness. As well as Tramadol, Oramorph and good old Paracetamol for pain from an air pocket in my lung cavity. It's day 3 since the chemo and I haven't been sick at all, which was my main fear. I have been feeling really spaced out but that might be to do with the Oramorph. The main reason for this blog is to get some feedback on living life with chemo, especially from people on a similar drug/course/dose. I'm a pretty ....no really positive person and I had my super lows and tears and depression when I was first diagnosed 4 months ago. I just thought that after getting the all clear in my leg I'd get a little longer before any other other scares! I know the power of positive thinking so I don't need too much advice in that respect but I am interested in types of diet, exercise, alternative therapies (only for relaxation and stress/pain relief, steady there Seanty) And I really want to here form people on what they had to avoid in there life and what they could (surprisingly) carry on with as normal. I think I'm a bit unsure at the moment about day 10 and that period when I'm susceptible to infection, do I have to stay "In a plastic bubble for week2?" Anyway I'm rambling, give us some advice please. Cheers Dave
