Have overdone things over the past 24 hours I think. Went out for a curry last night with hubby and we then saw the New Year in with a good friend and neighbour who was having a party at her house for her daughter who was turning 18. A housefull of teenagers with fireworks, champagne flowing and more food and birthday cake! Got home at around 3am, a bit tipsy!

Today went to sister in laws house for a family meal - soup to start, delicious roast beef dinner with all the trimmings, pudding, cheese and biscuits, coffee, liqueurs and mints....oh and of course a few glasses of red wine.

Well now I'm about to burst my stitches! Now I think I need to be sensible from now on, tomorrow will be a day of rest and tranquility and I will only eat healthy food. Hmmmm!

I am 12 days post-op now following a mastectomy and immediate DIEP flap reconstruction. Still feeling a bit sore, tummy very tight, still a bit of leakage from the drain sites and new boob looking and feeling hard and bruised and not matching the other side at all yet (however I can see potential). Wearing control pants Bridget Jones style and shock absorber sports bra with anti embolism stockings - Drs orders for the next 6 weeks. Most uncomfortable especially in bed!

Taking things very easy at the moment, it's frustrating when you're used to being the housewife and organising Christmas, to let hubby take over. I keep saying "that's not the way I usually do it...." I can see it is starting to irritate him now, bless him, he's doing a grand job really.

Anyway will keep you informed about progress over the next few weeks.

Sue xx
