my Husband, and how i had been to see his GP about the pain he was

getting in his hip and leg. Well he is going to have a hip replacement in

January, so hopefully he will be able to walk without the terrible pain he

is experiencing now.Tonight he had a call from his brother to say he was

going into hospital on friday to have a cancer growth taken from under his

tongue.Last year he had melanoma on his shoulder then his neck, and thy

have told him the cancer under his tongue is nothing to do with the melanoma.Being a nurse who cared for cancer patients ,i find this very

difficult to believe. My husbands Mother and Father had cancer, thy have

died from there cancer many years ago. My Husbands older brother has

kidney and bowel cancer, his first cousin has stomach cancer and his other

cousin has blood cancer, and his aunt died with bone cancer. Now his

middle brother has tongue cancer, am i worried VERY. Since we heard the

news about his brother tonight my Husband has been very quite, seems to

be miles away, so i dont feel as if we can talk about all this at the moment,

and i dont think he wants to anyway. Can Melanoma go into secondaries

somewhere else?, Would appreciate if anyone could tell me if its happend

to them ,or someone thy know.Thank you for reading this.

So much packed in the car no room for me.lo, so i was going to follow later,

and get the bus. I didn,t mind this very much as i could get some housework

done without hubby under my feet. 6-30 and the skies opened up, continued

for a while then stopped. I had done three loads of washing by 9-30 but had

no where to hang it as the rain started again. Phoned hubby to see how he

was getting on, not good at the moment he was like a jack in the box in and

out of the car with the stuff so it didn,t get wet. Now it was 11-30 not much

use me joining him as it was still raining so i expected him to pack up and

come home. 12-30 his home and would you credit it the flipping sun came

out and the rest of the day was warm and sunny. Still he did collect 40pounds,

not a lot but we will have one more go next sunday, whats left we will give to

Three times it has clicked off, now i can hardly remember the gist of what i

was saying in the first place, so i will try one last time for those who wanted

an update on my hubby. He went to see the consultant at the hospital today,

after he had checked him over and then looked at his ex-rays he said the injection he was going to give him in his hip bone would not be helpful

regarding the pain he was having. What was needed was a hip replacement,

and the sooner the hip op[sounds like a dance]lol, the better . Also a vertebra in his lower back had completely worn away, but for that he could do nothing.

So we now have to wait for an appointment for his operation, which he said

would be as soon as possible. So my poor hubby will be unable to do much

for three months after the operation, so my nursing skills have tocome out of

retirement, i only hope i haven,t lost my pachince along the way.

her how worried i am about him being in so much pain, and not eating

as well as he used to these past few days. I asked her if he could have

an M.R.I, she said doctors in her area could not send patients for a M.R.I

that was up to his consultant at the hospital to do. His been waiting 3months now for a apointment, the doctor said she would email them

to move things along as his pain was more progressive. She said when

she saw him last he never said much just that the pain kept him awake

at night. THATS MEN FOR YOU. I told her it sounds if im being an hysterical

women, but did she know about my hubby's family background, his mum

and dad died with lung cancer, his eldest brother had kidney cancer, now

its in the bowel, his middle brother is having chemo for a tumor on his back

his aunt died with bone cancer, his first cousin has stommuck cancer, to

me that's worrying. Anyway she said to tell him to go and see her next week.

So now its waiting to hear from the hospital. He is going for a pre assessment

on monday for this injection in the bone of his hip, its supposed to help his

pain, we will see. We are doing a bootsale on sunday prosseeds for the

MACMILLAN CANCER SURPPORT,we have to be at the field at 6 o'clock and

it doesn,t finish till 2, but he wants to do the bootsale, said it makes him feel

useful, i think its because he like joking with the girls, its packed with so

many stalls, but i have loads of things, to much really people have been so

kind donating stuff , but we only have a small car so it looks as if i will be on

When we moved to Wales six months ago he

was fine, but a week later he started to limp, and seemed in pain. This

went on for about a week and he decided to visit the doctor. anyway

to cut a long story short she sent him for an x ray and when the results

came back the doctor said he had OSTROARITHRITAS in his hip,she

gave him some medication for the pain and that was it. As the weeks

went by his pain was worse as was his limp, so back he went to see

the doctor. She prescribed a stronger pain killer and said she would

refer him to the local hospital to see a bone consultant. That was a

month ago and he has yet to hear from the hospital. In the mean time

the pain got worse, he found it difficult to climb stairs, and if he stands

to long the pain is almost unbearable. He cant sleep properly as its very

hard for him to turn over in bed and the pain is constant. His doctor has

given him an injection in the hip for the pain ,but that didn't work very

well ,he is also taking morphine tablets, and is waiting for an appointment

at the hospital for an injection in the bone of his hip which can only be done

by a surgeon. The thing that is worrying me is he has started to loose his

appetite. Now my husband has the appetite of a horse, nothing puts him

off his food but lately his been leaving food on his plate, something he

has never done and he doesn't look well in the face. He wont say why

his appetite is flagging and i know its because he doesn't want to worry

me, and he seems to have lost his sparkle. As a nurse for many years

i sense there is something going on in his body that's not right, i will say

out loud my fears to you all here because i know you will not think me

stupid, but i think he may have cancer, after all how many people have

there been on this site that have been misdiagnosed. Should i go to see

his GP and tell her my fears and ask that he has an MIR SCAN,i just dont

know what to do for the best. The hospital where his waiting to see a

consultant has told us his on the waiting list, god knows how long that

will be. His pain is worse and his medication is doing nothing to help

his pain.
