Hi, just like everyone else I'm new to this. My wonderful, absolutely, brilliant, intelligent mum was taken into hospital in Stirling on 24 Mar 10 and told she had a brain tumour. My mum is only 67 and the most intelligent and placid natured person. She is a very young and independent 67 yyear old, going on holiday on her own to Australia, Tour of Italy, Tour of China (was booked to go to Cuba in September this year). She was then diagnosed with gliabostoma multiforme grade 4 and had the operation to remove most of the 5 cm tumour on 31 March 2010. After my mum's operation she was absolutely amazing, she opened her eyes straight after her op and was wolfing back her dinner and hasn't stopped since.

She only got home from hospital on 6th May which was a long 6 weeks. After the op my mum was gr8 , amazingly chirpy and full of hope but since about the 1st May her mood has changed completely. I thought my mum would be better once she got home but no, she just seems to have deteriorated really quickly. Shows no interest, depressed, wants life to end.

Mum started her Radiotherapy 14th May. I felt really guilty because I was working. The hospital phoned to say that they would keep mum in for her treatment. My mum is now completely confused and doesn't know what is happening. It is absolutely heartbreaking. After mum's 3rd treatment, the doctors decided to stop. She was admitted to the Hospice on Friday 28th May. I am an only child and it is breaking my heart. I just want the best for my mum and realise that things are going to get a whole lot worse...
