We had a low key, lovely Christmas Day! Just putzing around and cooking after we opened our gifts.
The children and Dave all got a handmade heart for me to wear on a necklace that belonged to my my mother that I wear everyday. I was very happy. I had found it in Kentucky, made by John Leeds, using a particular Agate stone found in Kentucky. Its much prettier in person. Anyway, I had fallen in love with it after years of looking for a pendant to fit on the somewhat chunky necklace AND I particularly wanted a heart. It was if it had been waiting there for me for all these years. So I left a deposit on it and Dave and the kids got it out of hock for me in time for Christmas!
Setting the table for dinner...
The kids and our beloved Kip...
Me, being interrupted for a photo, I didn't want, sans the makeup and a crap hair day! Trying to be a good sport. haha
Dave, very sweetly, took time out in the morning as we began to do the present thing, to thank our children for all they did for him this past 18 months while he struggled to get well. They both have done well in school and took on their life's responsibilities in a fashion that made him both proud and able to stay focused on his own issues. It was very touching and sweet.
I hope you all had some blessings in your day.
