myelofibrosis

Less than one minute read time.
i have been diagnosed with myelofibrosis since may 2008 and connot find anyone else that has this rare disease. if anyone out there has or knows anyone who has this could they please get in touch. myelofibrosis is a blood disease that eventually becomes acute leukemia and for some reason cannot be treated and have been told by my consultant its terminal. idont know how long i have had it but do know by the symtoms its along time. by chance the haemotologist gave me a biopsy and found it. by the way i was 56 on the 4th march and have a wonderful husband and daughter. my daughter on 11th march got the wonderful news that the hysterectomy she had to have last year because of cervical cancer had worked she was all clear. i dont want to burden my family but iam afraid and feel isolated at times and have been relieved to find this site which i hope you dont mind me joining. thank-you for listening to me.GOD BLESS YOU ALL BEST WISHES eileen.

  • Hi ekelly,

Sorry you are feeling a little lost. Have you looked on the Cancerbackup and Macmillan Cancer Support websites (links in blue type at the top right of the page) for more information on your cancer?  A member on here may also be able to help you soon. You could also try putting 'myelofibrosis' into the SEARCH box at the top of the page in case it has been discussed on other older threads.

    Best wishes,

    KateG
