I am sure that you will all join in with me in wishing Picko all the very best and support him over the next few weeks as his medical team decides what to do about him and what to do with him.
Just before Christmas the pain in his back/leg became unbearable resulting him being put in hospital (in the ears nose and throat ward no less coz they didn't have anywhere else to send him) and when they gave him another scan - he has had check scans because he has a rare genetic cancer - they found a growth on his liver, in the lymph nodes in his chest and one in his pelvis which was pressing on his sciatic nerve causing all of his discomfort. Apprently they saw these on his check scan in October but no-one thought to do anything about it.
So now he can hardly walk and is in constant pain. More like agony. But it hasn't dimished his razor sharp wit or his acid tongue! He went to hospital on Tuesday and said very little and is going next Tuesday to try and sort out a treatment programme. It is unforgiveable that he is being messed about - his treatment needs to start NOW - radio to shrink the tumour in his pelvis to give him a quality of life and chemo to hold back the nasties in his chest.
No doubt he will come on here and have his two pennorth but all I am asking is send him a message of support. In his dark days he needs a bit of a "chuck on."
Keep smiling
Drew
