Debs Daily Deliberations 141 & 142 Bank Holiday Special

4 minute read time.
before the blog was opened apologies were received from Debs for having to post a double dose of deliberations today....was too tired last night and busy this morning. Sunday Was a day of rest mostly, Tony went off with his club partner to give back any equipment he had of the associations, they then went out for coffee after to discuss new options. Once home we took the dogs for a really long walk over the park, when our development was planned it was built with common land on one side with a man made fishing "pond", horses are still tethered and grazed by locals and the grass is not mown to encourage wildlife. The other side of the development is a wooded area, private fishing lake and small stream, tennis courts, cricket and football fields, park for children & bike ramp. So plenty of space to walk the dogs and let them romp around safely. On the way back Tony sat in the car with the dogs and I grabbed some groceries, I made Chicken and Harvarti cheese panini's for lunch. We sat in the garden and chilled for the afternoon and I cooked fillet of lamb, jacket potato's and spinach for dinner. We then ordered Inkheart on Virgin Filmflex and all the family (bar Jack) sat and watched the film together. I really enjoyed this family fantasy adventure and it finished off our Sunday perfectly. Monday Woke at 9.05am.....SHIT chemo day........Ollie you are a useless alarm clock lol - usually take the granisetron at 8am, followed by Temodar at 9am meaning I can eat from 10am onwards......which is doable, I'm starving but doable.....today by the time I got downstairs and took the anti-nausea it was 10.20am before I could take the chemo.......which yep you guessed it, mean't I couldn't eat before 11.30am!!!!! We had dinner at 6pm the night before, gawd it was like waiting for an operation all over again!!!! Me and my stomach had fallen out BIG TIME lol To distract me, Tony took me to a little garden centre in Nazeing with a coffee shop, by the time we got there I was more than ready for my bacon roll and skinny latte!!!! Devoured most ladylike but in Guiness World Record time I was ready to shop. A beautiful big evergreen Mimosa and some perennials and pansies to pot up and make the front look a little prettier, car boot heavily laden and we were ready for the off again. We came home, unloaded the car and sat in the garden and drank a cold glass of lemonade. At this point we decided to take the dogs to the Town Park, Ollie hadn't been before........what possessed us. We went and found a parking space eventually (forgetting that it would be full of picncic'ers and bbq'ers today) and started to walk the dogs, its quite hilly around the town park and I admit I was struggling in the heat. Dexter "unloaded" not long after our walk started and do you think we could find a dogloo.......nope Tony had to walk carrying his little warm bag around for ages!!!!!!Got to an area with few people and dogs and we let ours off, Dexter immediately started to roll on the grass not a good sign thank goodness its not smellablog cos you would all be gagging!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were totally unprepared, a small bottle of water for them to have a drink and that was it, no babywipes or a towel nothing!!!!! As soon as he had rolled a young family walked by and the Dad stroked him as I called out "I wouldn't do that if I was you, he's just rolled............." and the look on the guys face said it all LOL We walked back to the car quietly gagging and trying to stay upwind if possible. The car journey was nigh on unbearable and we hardly talked due to the smell. Tony dropped me at Tesco's while he got the job of taking the dogs home and bathing Dexter, who like any good dog worth his salt, managed to shake whatever he rolled in all up the walls and over Tony (oh so glad I can't drive and got the shopping bit lol). I phoned my darling hubby when I had finished shopping and he was just getting changed and came and got me. We managed a small laugh about it now.......home and one by one the kids started to get back - must be food time! I cooked fillet steak, new potato's, asparagus and button mushrooms. I have cut down on red meat almost totally but if I fancy it, I will have it and today we need something nice for dinner. I even had herb butter on my asparagus and new pots and washed it down with a glass of pinot noir. Tony is at this moment planting my new Mimosa for me and I have the Edinburgh Military Tattoo on the tv as background noise. I hope everyone else had a sweeter smelling bank holiday than me LOL Thought for the weekend: Madness is rare in individuals - but in groups, political parties, nations, and eras it's the rule.
