Dad had some really good news today when he got his bone marrow results....the test showed that there were no Leukaemia cells present in the sample and that his good cells were picking up nicely!! The doctors said how pleased they were with how well he had responded to the first cycle of treatment. It was great news for us all!!
He is still feeling well, and but for his unstable temperature would be able to go home for a week. They have now taken him off all antibiotics as they believe the temperature could be due to an allergic reaction to one, if not all of them. He also has a rash across a lot of his body which they believe is due to the same thing. The docs are hoping that as his 'good' cells increase, they too will help control the temperature. They took him off the antibiotics today so we are keeping our fingers crossed that this WILL bring his temperature down so he can go home for a while before the second treatment.
It'd be lovely for him to go and sit in his garden in the spring sunshine we've been having......and order mum about as to what needs digging, weeding, planting...while he 'supervises' in a comfy chair!!!
