Some good news at last

1 minute read time.
Hello my wonderfull friends Well today i had my appointment at 3pm so i got there early didnt wanna be late i have waited so long for this appointment. got there at 2.30 went to the clinic and they were waiting for me knew i was coming (suprise suprise i had been a pain in the arse for the last week lol). Clinic was runing late how late well 2 hours didnt get out of there till 5.40, But left with so much information, There is going to be a meeting next tuesday and there gonna talk about me this is how the doctor has planned things, 1st going to find out if i will have a stent type thing put in my groin up into my liver on the right hand side to block the main blood flow so it will shrink the right hand side of the liver, and the left side will increase in size to compensate for the lack of the right hand side not working so that will stop the cancer growing after that is in place for 3-6 weeks i will have surgery. 2nd If i dont have the stent i will go straight for surgery they are going to cut my liver basically in half getting rid of the cancer in the right. will have drains coming out of everywhere, A nasogastric tube to drain the contents of the stomach until my gut starts working again, A catheter we all know what thats for lol, Drians in the wound for fluid and blood to prevent swelling, and intravenous drip for fluids to prevent dehydration. 3rd Very heavy chemo about 8 weeks after surgery. All this could happen as soon as the 10th november 08 But will find out on tuesday whats next so atleast i know what i have to look forward to, I would like to take this opertunity to thank everyone for there help and support. lots of love Rose xxxxxxxxxx ((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))

    Hi Rose,

I am delighted to hear your news.  The good thing is that you are going to a specialist Liver unit for your operation.  My dad had Liver secondaries after colorectal cancer and he had 10 tumors in his liver.  He is now 5 years post surgery and has never felt better.  He came to stay with me after his op.  and was so well he could manage to look after himself.  I am sure you will do very well.  The liver is the only organ that can grow back so it's not as if they cut it out and you have to deal with less for a long time.  He can eat and drink and isn't on any medication which is also good.

Let me know where you are going to be treated.  My dad went to Leeds, however there are some great units in the uk now.

    Kind regards,

    Peggy

The burning question in the chat room last night was "Has anyone heard from Rose?" !  It must have been a very stressful day for you after all the waiting and hassle leading up to your appointment - and then the delay when you got to hospital.  Thank heavens that's behind you now, that there are options open to you and things seem to be moving at last.  All the very best Rose - now you can start fighting!  Love. Kate xxxx
