Why oh why did I trust Bill Gates!!!

2 minute read time.
August is usually a quiet month on the work front, and just as well really because I worked myself to a frazzle in July. In previous years, before the c word, I spent most of the months between May and September hurtling around Europe with a load of Indian passengers (that's asian not red btw) so it's strange to be here. But travel insurance, post surgery, for a policy covering work is astronomical, and with a load of medical stuff still ongoing it's not a viable proposition now. So out with the pen and make a list of jobs to do around the house with all the extra time on my hands. Good intentions are not easily transformed into work done being the original lazy b though. But one of the things I have got myself around to doing is upgrading my computers. Being a gadget freak I have 3 different pc's I use even though I live by myself. I made the mistake of going on the new Windows 7 that is replacing Vista. I installed it on my laptop and now got loads of programs that won't work with it, I can't connect it to my network either and can't even get on to t'interwebbynet thing. So it's back to good old XP on that I think (I don't like vista), or go all the way and leave Windoze completely and try Linux instead. But enough of computers now, I could bore for Britain given the chance. I'm going get myself off for a few days though before the summer ends, no idea where yet, probably throw some gear in the car and head off into the unknown, ending up somewhere I have never been before. I wanted to shoot off to Switzerland for a week or so but with appointments spread out ahead over the next 7 weeks it doesn't look like this year for that one. I have an MR scan in two weeks, and even got a date to see the consultant about the results. That's efficiency I didn't expect from the good old NHS. I have got into a stop smoking thing ran through my surgery as well, I slipped off the tobacco wagon, and that starts next tuesday for me as well. Not a lot else that occurs to me just at the minute, it must be the youngtimers disease creeping in again (it's like alzheimers but for the young) I usually get it after sampling the nectar at my local hostelery. So I'll go and decide how to spend my winnings off the lottery tonight. Then I'll check the ticket and postpone plans for another week.
