From january 2009 i was going to my gp and although he knew me i wasn,t a very regular patient the problem was a "sore throat" i was told and the usual course of antibiotics was given to me but after the 8th course i had to fight with him to see a throat specialist as i had feared the worst which turned out to be correct I won,t name any names here as im not out to score points this is too serious an issue, so im eventually sent to see this guy in ENT and his first words to me where " i,ll just whip out your voicebox" then something about an exploratory op after , as i was riddled with cancer in my throat and chest , this news hit me like a sledgehammer as although i suspected the worse to be told so coldly was devastating . So i refused his kind offer anyway and was all but readyto give up [not really] when this big guy appears and say,s he could give me 6 months to live if i went to his cancer centre well there was no choice as "voicebox " was only giving me 2 weeks , that was december and since then i have had 7 chemos and am still going through my radiotherapy in fact at one stage they told me i was all clear then they said " it was a mistake" but my main point is that as far as i know there was never cancer on my voicebox at all so how many people are using "buttons or "michrophones" that really didn,t need to with a little more care taken ?
