At my check in May 2019 three tiny tumours were found and were zapped there and then with a diathermy tool (basically burned away). I was originally diagnosed in February 2017. I had a TURBT operation on 1 March 2017. All went well with this and, at a follow up Cystoscopy on 6 June 2017 I was clear of cancer. At just over a year since my first TURBT operation I had a second cystoscopy. The first cystoscopy was clear but this one showed that I have a recurrence of bladder cancer with a small tumour in a different part of the bladder, near the exit. I have had my first cystoscopy check this afternoon at 3 months after my operation. I am very pleased to say that all is well. You can see the scar from the operation but it looks healthy and there are no signs of further lesions. Indeed the surgeon who did the operation and also this first check has said I do not need any more checks for 9 months. Yippee!!
