Have you had difficulty getting travel insurance after a cancer diagnosis? This blog gives helpful updates on the travel insurance group discussions.
Welcome to the August 2018 travel insurance update. The summer holidays have finally come to an end. Who is looking to book in a get-away for the October Half Term? We hope the discussions over on the travel insurance group will give you some valuable recommendations.
In August, the travel insurance group was featured in an online article by The Telegraph. You can read the article ‘Travelling with cancer: how to get insurance without being ripped off’, here.
Thank you to those of you who contributed over the group in August. Here are some of the highlights:
‘Hubby has stage 4 melanoma…given that I’d not got far with other companies, I thought this was pretty good!’
‘After hours of trawling compare sites to be quoted ridiculous sums of money I've just found a good deal.’
‘So relieved and delighted. Before this we were either refused travel insurance or quoted ridiculously high prices.’
‘[They] sorted out the issue to my total satisfaction. I would recommend this insurer to any person in my situation. They took a very sensible and compassionate approach.’

I`ve just joined the group. I have a metastic breast cancer. I`m currently insured with Insurancewith at a very reasonable price. I have never had to use it. It `s cover is for state doctors and hospitals only. Can anyone advise a Caribbean cruise travel insurance please. The double whammy is that I`m an extremely fit and otherwise healthy 73 year old.
I have been recently diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer and had great difficulty in finding an Insurance Co to cover me for a 10 day trip to Spain. I am 75 and also have Diabetes etc.
PREMIER COVER INSURANCE quoted me a very reasonable price and I can recommend them strongly.
Hope this helps others to get insurance

Thanks for your recommendation.
It would be great if you could share your recommendation on a new discussion thread, over on the travel insurance group. I know there are lots of members there who could benefit from your help.
Can someone recommend travel insurance companies that don’t ask too many difficult questions as I’m not a doctor.
I've recently been diagnosed with high grade non Hodgkin lymphoma, currently being treated with R-CHOP. I was due to be travelling to Orlando to celebrate my 30th beginning of October but have had to cancel as it's to soon since starting chemotherapy. I am also due to travel to Las vegas which I am still planning on going and doctors have gave me the go ahead to go as I've been coping fine with side effects and responding well to treatment which by then with be my 5th round, I can't seem to find travel insurance that will cover me apart from one which is between £1.500/£2000 which I know I am sick but it's ridiculous! I can't afford that... and in all honestly I'm not willing compass on this trip as it has been planned for a year already. please could anyone help? thanks in advance x
