My battle with triple negative breast cancer

  • CLL

This week I had my telephone consultation with my haematology nurse who is lovely. While I’m talking to her I feel ok but after the call I start worrying. It’s 8 months since my last appointment when the blood counts were good with my red blood cells up. I had my blood test last week and because I feel good I thought that the levels would be much the same. Although they are still acceptable the white count is now up to…

  • 2 Years after treatment

Three weeks ago I had my annual mammogram, post treatment. Owing to the pandemic this was delayed for several months.  I was so frightened that it wouldn’t be clear!  This week I got the results and all is well.   My next check up will be in 12 months, I am so relieved.  I have two more zoledronic acid infusions in June and December but so far have had no side effects with these. Now with the second lockdown as my yearly check approaches I’m getting increasingly uptight about it. My blood checks for CLL are also due next month. Every time I get a.government letter reminding me that I am very vulnerable and at risk it all…

  • Living with CLL

Since my mastectomy i do check regularly for any changes though it isn’t very easy as my left arm and hand are badly affected by MS. My husband checks for any changes too. I’ve just had my 6 monthly CLL check. Apart from the white blood cells everything was normal. The w.b.c. is 13 this time. Even though only 3 above the accepted level it has suddenly brought everything back and my brain is working overtime! Before lockdown…
