What are ‘Wellbeing Wednesdays’?

Starting this Wednesday (09/01/2019), the Online Community will be introducing a ‘Wellbeing Wednesdays’ to the site. Wellbeing Wednesdays will involve a wellbeing tip being shared with the Community each Wednesday by one of our ‘Wellbeing Champions’ here at Macmillan. The tips will be visible to all on the Community homepage, and its hoped these might offer and bit of guidance and support to anyone struggling with the emotional impact of cancer.

Who are our 'Wellbeing Champions'?

Our Wellbeing Champions helping us out with these tips consist of Su, Natalie and Claire, who also work within our Support Line Service teams. The three of them offer support to anyone who works within our Support Line teams and might be going through a tough time, and perhaps need a bit of emotional support.

Where can I find more support with my wellbeing?

Our Support Line teams are there to offer emotional support to anyone affected by cancer, even if it’s simply a listening ear that’s needed. You can call our Support Line for free on 0808 808 0000, and our teams are available Monday through to Sunday, 8am to 8pm.

If you’re perhaps wanting some support at a local level, take a look at the In Your Area section of our website. By searching using your location you can see what local support groups and services are available in your area. It might be you find a choir, and arts and crafts group or simply some people to have a drink and piece of cake with – all of whom will be going through, or have gone through a similar experience to yourself.
