There is no doubt that chemo is hell, when Ray was undergoing chemo he could just about manage to get up, the fatigue was so debilitating, along with the constant nausea. Have you tried the supplement drinks, they contain 400 cal and 20 grms of protein each , so at least by taking two of these a day...

Hi Pendry, so sorry to hear about your grandad, my partner had radiotherapy in February 2010, he had three sessions and found it very tiring. The first session wasn't too bad but by the third session he was wiped out for a couple of days. The sessions themselves weren't too bad , although...

W . Have you ever seen me wearing a watch? W means watch. No watch. Roger has always been my watch. If I needed to know what the time was, I simply turned to him and asked. He’d say, time for you to get a watch and I’d say, I don’t need one. I have you! Then he’d say how late...

T for thief and time. Time steals so much from you. We have always tried to use it to our best advantage. U is the unknown. Roger and I don’t know what is ahead but we keep on going. Just like that bunny that keeps going and going and going. We are going. I know I am planning our next cruise...

P . This is probably the most painful letter for me to deal with. P is for protect. For the past 18 years, I have tried to protect Roger. I would not allow anyone to be: unkind, cruel, abuse, hurt, castigate, harm, demean, attack, fill in the blanks….Roger. No one. Ever. Never pick on the honey...

N for NHS. Again for the non-UK people. The National Health Service. With the exception of that one “doctor”, see above under “M”. Just great to us. O is for overwhelming. How anyone can do this alone, I’ll never know. Especially in the beginning. There is so much...

I stands for I-pad. I am a PC person not Mac person. We got the I-pad so this way, when I am talking to someone, I have every note, mail, phone call, date, drug, procedure, names at the tip of my finger. Along with reading material for while we wait for whatever. Ok, I have gone over to the dark side...

Hi , This disease is scary as it seems to advance so quickly. Meso is staged, but there is ore than agreed method. We were given an official stage after surgery , when we had the results of the biopsy. Having said that, both the ocnologist and surgeon who specialize in meso, said that unlike with...

A is for the last name of a doctor we dealt with. Usually when we go into an office for the first time, the person will say, hello I’m so and so and you must be Roger and you are? And I’ll say, Bryan the other half or the conversation goes something along those lines. This time, the doctor...

Hello Lisa, my partner was diagnosed a year ago and just wanted to say I know what you mean by jelly in your tummy. I felt light headed mainly because I just couldn't take in the enormity of the diagnosis I think. Had whole days when I felt as though I was walking through treacle, literally putting...
