  • Forum Post: Re: Oral Chemo

Chris, am so sorry to hear your news about your husband. My partner was diagnosed aged 47 and he went from being very active to a semi- invalid very quickly when he started the chemo. I felt exactly the same and know what you mean about a "normal" day. We both had to deal with our new normal...
  • Forum Post: Re: Surgery stage 3

Hi Sue, my partner had the surgery described and he was classed as stage 3. The op is challenging and there is a lot of pain afterwards, so you do need to be discussing the pain meds with the doctors and nurses- absolutely no false heroics. As well as removing the pleura from around the lung we were...
  • Forum Post: Re: Help & Ideas Please

hello Rosie, hope your husband is feeling a bit better and good luck with the scan Theresa. • Forum Post: Re: Chemo results????

There is no doubt that chemo is hell, when Ray was undergoing chemo he could just about manage to get up, the fatigue was so debilitating, along with the constant nausea. Have you tried the supplement drinks, they contain 400 cal and 20 grms of protein each , so at least by taking two of these a day...

Great news about the scan, my partner had a really bad time after the fourth session, we were really worried about he would get through the final two sessions, but in fact round 4 was the worse. maybe we could see the end of the treatment ahead. Hi Pendry, so sorry to hear about your grandad, my partner had radiotherapy in February 2010, he had three sessions and found it very tiring. The first session wasn't too bad but by the third session he was wiped out for a couple of days. The sessions themselves weren't too bad , although...
  • Forum Post: ABC's of CANCER. W,X,Y & Z

W . Have you ever seen me wearing a watch? W means watch. No watch. Roger has always been my watch. If I needed to know what the time was, I simply turned to him and asked. He’d say, time for you to get a watch and I’d say, I don’t need one. I have you! Then he’d say how late...

  • Forum Post: ABC's of CANCER. THE LETTER P

P . This is probably the most painful letter for me to deal with. P is for protect. For the past 18 years, I have tried to protect Roger. I would not allow anyone to be: unkind, cruel, abuse, hurt, castigate, harm, demean, attack, fill in the blanks….Roger. No one. Ever. Never pick on the honey...
  • Forum Post: ABC's of CANCER K, L, & M

K Karma. If one wants to look at it this way, our lives were so fantastic, karma almost had to make it go the other way to compensate. L . Lister Hospital. Ten minutes away. Where all of this started and where Roger goes for his chemo treatment. The name Lister we’ve been lead to believe is...
