  • Forum Post: Re: 28-day prescriptions

About them not telling us about forums Barbara. I will be telling my lot. But I will also be getting health providers' views on the NHS shake-up. So far they have been quite open. I'm booked in to this thyroid steering group now, so will let you know how it goes, and of course if it's ok...
  • Forum Post: Re: Blood tests etc post RAI

I think Barbara it's not one cap fits all. I had the RAI, then went off for a few days in the country sun, came back to the long full body scan(90 mins which seems far longer than anyone else has posted). Bloods were done 6 weeks later aprox and I had a session with ultrasound. I worked ultra...
  • Forum Post: Re: Im now thyroidless... what meds are you on?

It's interesting reading about T3 & T4 jacac and mrsp. I do find more particularely at the moment(workwise it's always a quieter time of year) that I feel more drowsy any time of the day. I'm on 175mcg thyroxen, having been lowered by GP from 200. This is one thing I have to check, but...
  • Forum Post: Re: 28-day prescriptions

Kazzy, prob just about GP cash as usual. I was pressed to have my bloods at Endo(who got orders in for next June) GP's and Onco who did this batch. It was like the Vampires Ball. All the 'health providers' appear to be scrapping for our trade already, so dishing out the pills just another...
  • Forum Post: Re: RAI questions

Why you hiding from other people Barbara? I came out Wed and Fri was having a very booz evening with others(pre scan). Didn't unduly effect them or me(ok wasn't planning a few drinks). And yes the RAI comes back to nip from time to time, although nothing to worry too much about. Got the fish...

With a razor blade and a microscope- what are the chances ofgoing 10mcg either side or 20 come to that. This behaviour is unacceptable. OL
  • Forum Post: Re: 28-day prescriptions

GP just wrote it out. Can't see what the problem is fr you Barbara....but I have to admit I take another 'eachand every day pill' for the rest of my natural, so Doc might view me as a safe bet for necking pills. The other option might be toget your endo/onco to prescribe. However suppose...
  • Forum Post: Re: 28-day prescriptions

Got 3 months off my GP, in 3 dif 'sizes' (100's, 50's, 25's) useful if dose goes up or down(unlikely). Get a GP who lives in the real world perhaps. Good Luck as they are having bit of an ID crisis at the moment. Ol.
  • Forum Post: Re: Im now thyroidless... what meds are you on?

Hi Fran, good to see you here in the group. It as quietened down a bit over weekend hasn't it? I am curious about your particular thyroid cancer which if I spell it correctly is Medullary? I know it's unusual and dificult to treat as you'vementioned in the past. It doesn't figure in the...
  • Forum Post: Re: Low Iodine Diet - advice, tips, frustration

Hi LRK, I was in Charing x(your not at St Mary's Pad too are you?). Say hi to Robert -he's great. Good Luck and Best Wishes Oliver.
  • Forum Post: Re: Blood tests etc post RAI

Think that was me burbling on about vocal chord checks jacac. If you have them, and you have a surgeon checking with endoscope, I would suggest all he needs is a little vaseline and a sure hand. The 'tear gas' spray anaesthetic was a nono after the firsttime I hadit. S'posed to have pre...
  • Forum Post: Re: what does your scar look like?

Hi Barbaral, good to see you escaped. Not so bad was/is it, although I felt a bit crap after the RAI(sort of drained). I hope you kept the nuke wristband as a memento. I have put a photo, sideways for some reason, in my photo profile if anyone wants a look. I have no idea how to post it but if anyone...
  • Forum Post: Re: Bit of a Wake Up Call

They took another pint of blood out of me(left my arm looking a bit mutilated even though using a butterfly) Does anyone else have involvement in a clinical trial for thyroid genetic traits/history? I was ambushed in oncology clinic on Monday, and I'm ok with it. It's being run by at Welcome...
