I've always worried about lung spread Kazzy, and I've whinged about it before here. I was more worried when I had an ambiguous diagnosis, something I only fully cleared up 2 months back in Endo and Onco. This was because HCV carries(as I understand) a higher risk of lung spread by comparison...

Difficult one Sara. I had similar with my wife and mum, but for different reasons(my wife terrible with health, mum gets all 'I'm in charge'). Have you brothers/sisters or good friend of theirs who might spill the beans sort of after they get back? Having said that you won't be wrecking...

Apart from the extreme reaction to annaesthetic and morphine, my recovery went really well. I had extra time in hospital which helped, and I'm sure aspects of treatment(drips magnessium tabs etc) all gave me a boost. My scar was great, with a bit of H5 cream it was never an issue. I did feel flakey...

Barbara, a clementine or maybe a tangerine surely. I like to fondly remember mine as a mermaid's purse or miniature bag(pipe). Keeping well ~ Oliver.

2 months from date of surgery(17th March), with at least 4 weeks warning, so the low iodine diet was not really a problem to get on with, but it was quite hard cooking with both of us on a non-salt cookery regime. I wasn't as strict as I could have been, but I avoided Jaffa Cakes(so that was the...

And it gets less & less noticeable, but some people do eyeball your scar. Just 'watch' someone when they are talking to you close to, and sometimes(you will) you can see their eyes do a little double take. It's quite funny, but remember to wear your scar with pride(I think open fresh...

Hello Sara, I had a muddled diagnosis, but at least my hosp team were(are) good natured about the uncertainty of what was wrong with my thyroid etc.., but it sounds like you are getting some duplicity. That would annoy me a lot more than not getting it right and being honest about that(which was the...

Hi Fran, I've had aching legs(like an achy itch) for years but believe them to be work - caused. But I had what felt like a lower thigh cramp couple of days ago which was new for me, and I wondered if that was linked to thyroxin or thyroidless complications. I do realize from the group chat that...

Yes Barbara, I think I might try to set something like this. I was a bit slow about realising that GP quite happy to drop dose just because reading was good, possibly being unaware of the high dose to trick. I don't think my energy levels are coping on 175, so I'm going back up to 200(endo's...

Hello Dean, I'm Oliver, and I've wondered a lot about wanting my thyroid back(without the cancer), and I do find now nearly a year after surgery that my physical energy is dipping a bit drastically. I spent the 9 months after op in a work frenzy due to worry about going bust(no insurance or state...

I thought I'd done some posting on surgery, but perhaps under another title. I have to say I was nervous about the surgery due(ah yes it was about lithium reaction) to many years taking lithium(mood stabilizing 'salt element'). So that was a background from the off. My surgery was fairly...
