  • Morning everyone

Well, after not really daring to ask all the details of my breast cancer at my last 2 appointments I had a letter this morning with all the details. Felt very nervous reading it but a bit relieved in a way too as now I know!

I have locally advanced, triple negative invasive carcinoma with lobula features...gulp! Locally advanced as I have small multiple nodules on both lungs...gulp again!

I am really pleased it's not inflammatory breast cancer as I have thought this all along, still have so that's a bit of a relief. Worried about lung stuff, but he did originally say that the chemo will hopefully shrink that. Not great though having secondaries :(

Probably being paranoid to but my treatment plan is chemo for now and then he is assessing my response before taking the next necessary steps....mind in overdrive haha!! At least I can feel my lump shrinking so hope I'm responding!!

    xxxxx

  • Hi Annie

I am locally advanced too! Due to the lymph nodes, not had lung scan results yet....

I "knew" you were lobular type.......!!!Triple negative does respond to chemo well and is the best treatment for it

Sometimes I think an MX initially is better than a lumpectomy then another surgery if they did not get clear margins.....and you may well find you are someone who can have immediate recon......

Good news compared to what you thought, so pleased for you......

I had invasive lobular cancer, stuck in a country where emotional support is an alien concept

  • Hi Sascha,Thanks!

I knew you knew hehe!! Just glad not inflammatory. Thanks for telling me how well triple neg responds to chemo, that's really great to hear! Originally, they did say mx....so am guessing that's what will happen.

What's happening with you and you're treatment? Where and when do you start? xxxxxx
