Since starting the Cyberknife petiton, another NHS Hospital has announced that it is buying Cyberknife, and will start accepting patients by the end of 2011. This means that by the end of 2011 four NHS Hospitals will have this potentially lifesaving treatment. It is vital therefore that we challenge PCT's who impose a ban on funding Cyberknife - otherwise it is a waste of NHS resources if only private patients can use them.
Statistics suggest that one in three people now get cancer in the UK, so even if you don't need Cyberknife at the moment, there is a strong chance that one day you, or a loved one might. So please sign the petition linked below, and spread the word.
Signed petition and have received confirmation.
Just wondering - would it help or hinder if people from outside the region you are petitioning for signed? The last thing I would want to do is give 'ammunition' to the non-funding PCT who could belittle the petition saying it was all signed by people outside their remit.
Obviously, more than happy to sign if you think it won't damage your cause if an 'outsider' signs it!
All the very best - Julie.
Yes please - everyone sign.
