hello peter, have been reading your blogs with interest.  You really do have to start looking after yourself and rest more.  I know work is important to you but being on your feet all day is what's slowing the healing process up.  I have lymphodaema in my left arm post breast cancer and lymph node removal and wear a tight arm sleeve which is quite uncomfortable.  My arm swells quite often and is heavy.  I don't work but have to still run a home for my delinquent husband/daughter and jack russel Badger.  The only thing that helps is literally to REST with my arm elevated - boring I know but necessary.  I do hope you are able to cut your hours down.  None of us is irreplaceable so put yourself first - as long as the bills are paid and food is on the table REST.  I do wish you the very best of luck with your leg and thank you for keeping us all informed so graphically!

"Mother"Lynn here Peter, -  thought they might have to treat the "over granulation" with silver nitrate, it works really well I know from experience.

That wound is looking so much better and healing great, - keep up the good work!!

....... and do as you are told my boy........!!!!!

(my own children say I am far too bossy, so does my husband...)

My husband goes in next week for major prostate surgery so I am already telling him what he can and can't do.!!

    xxLynn

    Bad boy - I told you to rest . . . . .

Peter, If you don't rest you'll end up in hospital with infections, dehydration and exhaustion (as I well know, it happened to me) The body needs to rest to heal, thats why we have pain, its the body's way of telling us to stop. You already know all this so I'll stop the lecture, its only because we worry about you (yup - I'm a mum too).

The wound is healing - not pleasant but looking better every time.

    Please rest

love and gentle hugs, Sharry x

    Hi,

I have followed all the advice to the letter following my op.  (It's my second skin graft so knew a bit more about what to expect). I have had most of my calf removed, right down to the muscle.  Take a look at my blog picture - and for your own sake - give it a go.

Wish you loads of luck with it, but you must look after yourself too, just now.  (Sound like your Mum eh!)
