No finer guy

1 minute read time.

Daniel's journey with Stage 4 Ewings Sarcoma started a little over a year ago (well, that he knew of!)  Watching the way he and his partner Evie have dealt with this couldn't fail to amaze and inspire.  They are both truly remarkable.  They've faced this thing head on, never doubting that he will kick this thing into remission and even retaining their sense of tumour! (Daniel's joke, not mine!)

So I decided to start this blog as a testament do Daniel's sheer tenacity, fierce determination, incredible spirit and mind blowing mental attitude.  I want him to be able to inspire and bring hope to as many people as possible.  For those of you out there that are facing your own journey, for those of you that may be feeling hopeless, for those of you that feel as though the whole thing is bringing you down . . . nobody could blame you . . . but I wanted to show you just exactly what a positive mind set can achieve.

When Daniel's cancer was FINALLY diagnosed (a whole other story that I'll tell you later!) his prognosis looked pretty bleak.  The primary tumour on his lungs was 12cm by 8cm and was preventing him from breathing properly.  He had secondary tumours on both his hips and his lymph nodes.  To cut a long story short (for now!) Daniel tackled it with his usual level of class, humour and positivity.  Only 9 months later and following a gruelling regime of almost constant chemo and radiotherapy . . . Daniel was given the all clear!

The all clear! From riddled to cancer free in just 9 months!  That was in May and sadly Daniel's just had the news that his cancer has returned . . . but you can bet your life it's not getting him down! He's fighting fit and ready to kick cancer's butt all over again! With his family and friends behind him, the support of his beautiful Evie and help from the marvelous Royal Marsden Hospital . . . there's nothing he can't do.  And this time around I have absolutely no doubt that he will beat this and continue to be his amazing self for a very long time yet.
