Dad will get his biopsy results on Friday morning ...

1 minute read time.

Well it is a good thing that I work M/T/W as they wanted to see him a week today! When my mum explained I couldnt get there they said come this Friday... so saved another week of waiting!

Not sure what to expect - we know he has cancer in his lung, we know there were several suspect dark patches in other parts of his chest [hence the op to get samples to biopsy]

Still not been told what stage of lung cancer he has - will they offer this information on Friday?

As dad hasn't had any treatment for his lung cancer yet [all been about tests and making sure] then will he be told on Friday what treatment options he has?

Will the consultant give more than one option or is it what they say goes? Not sure that with the different options I know enough to help them make a decision - any ideas on this?

If dad needs treatment over a number of weeks - is it possible to have treatment transferred to a hospital near to where I live and have him stay with me whilst he goes through it? Mum and dad could have a bedroom here and lots of support on a daily and nightly basis [at the moment I am in Derby, they are in 40 miles away and treatment is in Sheffield]

Feel a little empty - feel a little anxious

Life throws us some weird stuff and it is how we deal with them that matters...

Have a wonderful Wednesday and make a smile spread by sharing it!

    Hi Julie,

Sorry to hear that your Dad dosent know his results yet,I think the worst part of having Cancer or Caring for someone who has is the waiting the not knowing.

I will be thinking about you on Friday and hope the results of the biopsies are good. You look after yourself.

Take care and be safe Big Hugs Love Sarsfield. P.S.

    regards to Matt.

    Hi Julia,

I am sure everyone is feeling anxious about Friday, but hopefully the results will be better than expected. It is hard to answer your questions as I don't have any experience of lung cancer, but write down all you want to know so that you can ask on the day  and get the information you need.

              Take care,

                 Love lizzie xx

    Hi

I am new to this site.  My Dad has just, over the passed month gone throgh what your dad has gone through. We found out that he has small cell lung cancer for this chemo and radiotherapy is used- doesn't cure it but can put him in to remission for months or (touch wood) years. He had his first round of chemo today at Scunthorpe. Him and my mum live near Pontefract but Scunthorpe had the shortest waiting time.  I am 100% certain that you dad could choose to have treatment in Sheffield.

I live in Doncaster so I am not too far away from you.  Keep me posted.

    Love Hayley
