HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET THE RESULTS OF A SCAN!

Less than one minute read time.

Mum is doing well considering what she has been through and going through.  She went for a scan a week ago and we have heard nothing since then, and as we were told she had 3/6 weeks to live and 4 of these weeks have gone by, surely they would let us know asap what is going on.  If anything with home care Mum seems a lot better she has put on weight and is managing to walk a little, the nurse comes in every day, but is she really as sick as they say, she seems to think she is okay, can anyone please tell me how long it should be to get the results of the scan, I hate all this waiting, many thanks

Hi PoppIssy, I take it you still don't have any answers regarding your mum's diagnosis, whether it is cancer or a fungal infection? If not, that is despicable.

I think scan results take at least 10 days, maybe even a fortnight, but someone else on here may be able to answer that further.

I so hope you get the answers you are looking for soon as it must be so horrendous not knowing.

Wishing you well. Please let us know if you get any definite results.

    Hi Poppy,

Its very unfair keeping you waiting, if there is such a short time to come to terms with what lies ahead.

Normally the result of scans take a fortnight. But it can vary. All the best.

Take care and be safe Big Hugs  Love Sarsfield.xxx

Hello Poppy, if I were you I would just ring up and ask to speak to whoever is taking care of your mum.  I am glad she is doing well at home, its where we all feel safe and secure and that is what is helping her to deal with each day, being surrounded by her own things and your love.  I wish you all peace and strength.  Ann x

Hi all no we have had nothing since she left hospital 2 weeks ago we took her for a scan a week ago and I have spoken to our GP and asked him to chase it up as we have not even received an appointment through the post or anything, but as usual that's why I thought I would ask all of you so I can chase up.  We are still in limbo as the consultant puts it, yes right??????
