Care In The Hospital

1 minute read time.

My Mother has been in Broomfield hospital Chelmsford for a month now and during this time I have had to repeatedly complaint to the point I am now friends with the cheif exec's assist lol.  I have had to complain about the care levels the treatment, why they dont explain anything to us and think they can just do it.  Why they seem to think that they can just do anything they want and not be accountable?  Why there are never enough nurses, why they leave my Mother in a bed filled with poo and wee, they let her fall out of bed in the night, why it takes me an hour and a half to get through to the ward with my phone on redial and the telephonist tells me the phone is on do not disturb but the ward sister says it is not.  I am so worried all the time that my Mother is NOT getting the care and treatment she deserves but NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE.  While they say they are looking into this nothing is improving my own son had to strip the sheets on her bed yesterday as no one else was going to do it.

HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD EXPERIENCE OF THIS PLEASE RESPOND

What does the Chief Exec say?

Someone is not incharge of this situation. YOU could try contacting teh local PCT  Primary Care Trust.

I really feel for you. Hope you get someone to listen. You could  try  your MP.

    Take care

Hi - I think it's awful that your mum isn't getting the care she needs - but in my experience you have to push push push, and let them know that you're on their case all the time.  Try taking a camera in, and start snapping the bed if it hasn't been changed, casually mention that you might phone the newspapers - that makes them look lively!!

    Good luck,  Jeanie x

What a dreadful state of affairs, and sadly not an isolated occurance of lack of care, it happens all the time across the country.

I am with Deejay on this.  When G has had similar problems, I have had no hesitation in taking my complaints straight to the Cheif Executive,  and saying that if the situation is not immediately resolved, I will be contacting the local media.

By now,I guess G's file is  labelled serial complainer, but we have always achieved the result we want.  Heavy handed I know, but who can stand by when your loved one is not getting an acceptable  standard of care.

I hope your mum is soon getting all the care she needs.
