round the corner we go

1 minute read time.

Think we can now officially say we have gone past the mid point now ( as opposed to round the bend, which happened a long time ago) the corner has been turned, still faint crackling from his lungs , but not as bad as 10 days ago. Although it is still off putting, he admitted today that he was worried if instead of it being pneumonia, it was actually his lungs dissolving away that was causing the fluid !!

I did say that thought we had enough to worry about without adding dissolving lungs in to possible outcomes.

He is also coughing a lot less, still has a few hacking cough episodes but he can now hold a conversation without being overtaken by a coughing fit. Continuing to drink loads of fluids and get as much rest as possible, he definitely fulfilled that one over the weekend. Although still getting very tired during the day and having some fitful sleeps- he has wide awake moments between 3 – 5 am, when it is most fitful. Can’t actually remember the last time he had a full nights sleep.

The antibiotic course finishes on Friday, assume if he still has crackles then will need to have them extended, keen that we do get rid of the pneumonia rather than it lurking below the surface and then flaring up again in a couple of weeks.

So fingers crossed we are now firmly back on the right track
