Pneumothorax and chemotherapy

Less than one minute read time.
I have had a rough ride, my surgeon really struggled to put my port in, he told me he almost gave up, then I became a little out of breath, after an x ray it was apparent he had nipped my lung and it had deflated like a balloon, I had a drain fitted, to drain away all the escaped air from the lung, it was incredibly painful. Then I spent 4 days in hospital on the 4th day they took the drain out, but the lung still had a little way to go. I was told it would repair it self and was given breathing exercises to do. This was yesterday. I am lying in bed and I can hear my lung bubbling away now! My second chemo is scheduled for this Thursday, my team say it will be fine, but I am really worried that the chemo will stop the healing process of my lung, and I am still very tired. Can anyone help?

Hello Samjam1.  Sorry to hear about all what you have been going through.  Maybe the nurses on the Macmillan support line would be able to give you some advice?  Take care xx
