Go t' the Foot of Our Stairs!

1 minute read time.
This follows on from my '"Definitely Not a Year" Year Blog'. As I said there, on my way home from aromatherapy on the anniversary of my "3-4 months" verdict, I called in at the Oncology Department and handed over a greetings card telling them that I was still alive. This morning I have had a letter from my Oncologist, with whom I have had no contact for the intervening year since my 3-4 months terminal verdict. It begins "Thank you indeed for your card and it is good to know that you are well and fully functional.... It would not be unreasonable for you to have a further CT scan and assessment, to see how things are at the present time. We will await your instructions. With kind regards. PS - It is great to know that you are doing well...." Well, go t' the foot of our stairs... He also mentions the exact location of my 'new' met last May, which I had presumed was either my lungs or liver and so had not asked about as I did not want the stress of that. It was actually another set of lymph nodes. So, Monday a.m., I am going to ring and make an appointment. I know that it HAS spread - I can FEEL where, if I am late taking painkillers. I have certainly had enough factors for it to do so with the troubles I have had to face - BUT he does admit that there is a little chance that yes, one or two people with this particular cancer DO keep going just that little bit longer! I'll keep everyone posted of the results. Mind you, I'm a bit worried in case he says, well, you're alive, but we don't know how with all the places it's got too!!!! xxxx Penny
