Just a thought - helpful, I hope

1 minute read time.
I have just been diagnosed with prostate cancer. My bone scan is fine and I await the MRI to see if there is any local spread. I'm a retired GP and Christian. One problem is that I know too much and remember all the bad things with my patients, but I know that God has sent this my way for a purpose and that things will work out in His will. So far I'm on an anti-androgen and await the Zoladex injection on Monday. I also used to do hypnotherapy and am currently doing a visualization of my prostate (and any spread around it) as a ping pong ball that I wrap in duck tape. I have located that in a room deep in my subconscious and go and check that it is going on all the time by popping in from time to time. The biopsies enable me to feel where the location is and I can feel action by a warm feeling there when I do the visualization. I also visualize Jesus Christ inside killing the bad cells off, but clearly that addition is a personal thing. I have faith that this working and no idea if it would for anyone else, but in the past have helped a number of my patients take back some control over what is a frightening problem.

Hello Mike,  I wish you all the very best.   You have an interesting way of dealing with things and if it helps you then why not.   I hope and pray that you can be given curative treatment.  Take care and may God be with you  x x

Hello Mike,  my 18-year old son had a tumor in his left kidney too big to be taken out in February this year.  He underwent chemo and we also did visualization of the tumor shrinking and the thrombus in his inferior vena cava and renal vein melting.  From 29 cm before chemo his tumor responded well and shrank to 6.5 cm, also there was no more thrombus.  He had a successful nephrectomy in June 9 followed by six sessions of radiotherapy.  He's now doing chemo again with 13 cycles to go all the way till December.

We're in the hospital now but we'll be discharged tomorrow.  Couldn't help but compare this experience of chemo with the previous ones- this was a breeze without any vomiting or nausea.

We've had so much support from family and friends in helping us visualize and pray for my son's complete healing and recovery; I believe in the power of both.

Thank you for sharing your very positive stance in the face of this unfathomable disease.  Sending you healing energy and prayer.

    God bless

    Rachel

    From my experience both work

I have been having treatment for advanced prostate cancer for over a year and I am on hormone injections for the foreseeable future. Also received 7.5 weeks of radiotherapy treatment at the maximun recommended level.

My faith in God has increased since I was diagnosed with cancer in February 2008

Just want to add a little bit more

The thing which I have learnt about prayer many of answer which I have had particularly over the last six months have been quiet unexpected and different from expected. All have involved me contributing to them

The main thing that I found with the treatment of my cancer is that I have to be patient and there is no real cure for my cancer.

Also as an individual the experience has changed my life for the better in many ways.

Cancer to me is as much a desease of the mind. By solving the problems of your mind makes it much easier to deal with the actual cancer and its treatment.

Life now is better than it has ever been
