Bad news

It's not bad or selfish to be relieved you've got an answer as to what the problem is and how it can be dealt with, it's normal! I hope his surgery goes well and his pain eases, all the best, Vikki xxx

Thank you all for your comments. My dads in hospital. The doctors have put some coils in his arterys today to help stop the bleeding during the op hes having tomorrow. They are going to put a steel rod in his right femur to strengthen it. Its a major op and we've ben warned there are risks. Once thats done they will begin to treat the cancer.

He has a 1 inch tumour in his femur. At the moment he can't walk and the slightest touch leaves him in agony.

Ironically we found out today that my dads aunt has face cancer. She's had it since October but hasn't discussed it because her son was dying of cancer. She had had bowel cancer a few years previously and has been left with a stoma as has my dad as a result of diverticilitis. Hence they've become very close. I hate this disease it devastates families!

I'm being strong for the rest of my family but it's so great being able to come on here and let off steam with people who understand. Thank you x
