given up all pretence at trying to handle the countdown and just admit to being a nervous wreck, the only silver cloud is my appetite is always ruined this week through the nervous tension, so at least I don’t put on any more weight. They fixed the scanner on Tuesday morning, phoned in the afternoon...

A great two days, lovely weather , clear and frosty. We took the car out to Stockbridge yesterday, although still didn’t get to eat at Stokes, as was full , so we ended up at the Three Tuns instead. Had a lovely lunch and then a great trip back home, we checked out a couple of other places with...

This time last year we were returning from Rome, with the knowledge that in under two weeks Ray would be undergoing major surgery, which would just be the start of a dark journey that offered only tough choices. The chemotherapy was just s hard as expected and he still deals with some of the aftereffects...

Sitting in the warm looking out at a cold, blowy day. Nothing at all planned today other watching old films on the TV. Ray made a fantastic potato and leek soup with garlic croutons, which was just what the doctor ordered on such a day. He still has his cough , however, the test results came back...

Think we can now officially say we have gone past the mid point now ( as opposed to round the bend, which happened a long time ago) the corner has been turned, still faint crackling from his lungs , but not as bad as 10 days ago. Although it is still off putting, he admitted today that he was worried...
