    Hi there

sorry I cannot help you as I have not had chemo, but have you tried asking the nurse? There is a link under "Cancer information" on the right hand side of the page - they would be the best people to assist you if no-one else comes back.

I hope you get some answers

    love and gentle hugs

sorry must have missed your last blog..... it is normal to have joint pain , and food can taste strange and smells can strange, not everyone loses all their hair on chemo some dont lose any they usually know which type makes you lose your hair, it must bet an added problem having a language barrier when you are going through this. i find this place very helpfull and i apologise for you not getting a response before, it is very unusual, maybe it was a day where there were lots of blogs and yours was missed. i dont know but good luck with your next lot. liz xxx

    P.S

i have just read your profile.... people wont see your profile unless they click on your name so that is why you did not get any responses.... if you click on cancer types you will find people with the same as you you can also add people as buddies and ask them questions or just chat, also you can go into chat and ask things or just have a bit of a laugh anytime of day or night usually. good luck

I second everything Liz has said....I had a constant thirst and couldnt stand sharp, citrusy smells, and had weakness and numbness in my knees for 2 days following my 3day chemo stints. your skin will probably tighten and dry out and your nails will probably suffer so get a good emolient cream and keep the back of your hands and your elbows well oiled. you may also get a ringing in the ears but its not constant just ..strange but its soon goes.

    Hi.

I had three cycles of Xeloda over three months (in hospital for a day for a drip and then pills for 3 weeks), but I didn't have joint pains. I guess chemo reactions are different from person to person.

For me, I had real bad constipation particularly at the start of the 2nd and 3rd cycle for 2-3 days (or was it longer than 2-3 days, it certainly felt like it), had a peculiar dry patch on my forehead for most of the time I was on chemo although no one could see it, a metalic taste in my mouth on some occassions, and only lost about 1/5 of my hair (evenly, over all) at the beginning of the third cycle for a couple of weeks and then it stopped failing out. Nothing too drastic. As I say - it's probably different from person to person. Hope this helps.

    All the best, Regards, Jonathan
