Debs Daily Deliberations 107

3 minute read time.
Evening All, Rudely awakened by Ollie at 6am, stumble out of bed, where's my slippers oh yes.......Ollie took one outside while the boys were dogsitting and left it out during the rain and thunderstorm....although much less smelly it was overly wet! So throw on the bathrobe, fumble for my glasses and grab the little terror tot and bring him downstairs. Open the backdoor and out he goes.........huge wee and straight inside for his reward. Now usually I just sit on the sofa with him until he goes back to sleep then make a cuppa tea, fire up the computer and make the most of the "quiet time" well today I thought I would take him back upstairs and he could curl up on our bed. BAD IDEA, he was hyper running around all over the bed, oh dear he woke the hubby......what a shame........it was a complete accident!!!!!!!!!! So we BOTH come back downstairs and I make a drink....meanwhile Ollie the little bugger goes and gets in his basket and goes back to sleep - TYPICAL Anyway, at 9.15am we head off to the vets.....Ollie was being chipped, he really missed having Dexter with him, he seemed so unconfident without him, lost almost. The vet told us he might "yelp a bit".....not my little boy......didn't utter a whimper. They gave him a treat which didn't even touch the sides...the vet laughed and told the nurse to give him another. We went into the pet shop nextdoor and bought him a new collar and some treats. Back home and told the kids to watch the dogs while we went grocery shopping. Got home and popped some part-baked baguettes in the oven which we had with extra strong cheddar cheese while the baggies were still warm and started to melt the cheese - oh yummmmmmm. Not long after Tony was "resting his eyes" and I did some more brain tumour research in a few new forums I have found. So much reading and most of it "whooshes" right over my head. Got a phonecall from the outlaws that they were having a BBQ and would we like to go....lemme think, no cooking or washing up "oh OK then" who am I kidding YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Their neighbours were also invited, John is Irish and Zinni (?) is Italian.....quite a couple. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and I think my MIL actually took a fairly good photo of me with the eldest son, will have to try and get a copy. While we are there, the middle son who was round a friends phones and opens with "Mum I think you might have the hump with me but.........." he'd opened the cupboard to get some waffles out and the bottle of Califig had jumped out and crashed onto my glass platter which then broke!!!!!! He didn't fancy waffles anymore, so how do I cook a soft egg........start with a saucepan....now its worrying when he says "ermmm I am looking in the cupboard, is it like a bowl with a handle"..... my son has been doing domestic science for two years now. This was the point when I said "its time to go home, before Sean burns it to the ground". Came home to find said shattered glass platter.........saucepan left on the stove filled with water......plate with eggcup and eggshell all over it........why can't kids scrape their plates!!!!!! Feeling very tired now but its been a good day. Hope you are all enjoying the same! Thought for today: Confronting illness can be an opportunity to awaken to the profundity of life. A person who has faced a major illness knows how to deeply savor life. Daisaku Ikeda

I really liked the thought for the day - where do you get them ?  I think maybe between us we can get rid of Luke and Buttercup - maybe they could find happiness together and leave us alone - what do you think?

I am quite happy for Luke and Buttercup to "get it on" but think we should have Buttercup sterilised first, don't want any offspring from them LOL

I have a few quote sites bookmarked as I have always enjoyed them....glad everyone else is.

Sometimes I put silly quotes, sometimes thought provoking and hopefully sometimes inspiring.
