Debs Daily Deliberations 104

2 minute read time.
Morning All, Sorry I am a bit late with yesterday's deliberation....the day kinda ran away with me and then my internet crashed in the evening!!!!! So, lets start at the GP's surgery, 9am and I walk in for my blood test I can see the look on the nurses face as she was one who had trouble last week with me. She smiles and says...."right lets have a go"......now normally my right arm is pretty good, I donated blood easily from here and all my tests (apart from last week) have been done here...the bruise had almost completely disappeared from two weeks ago and it looked safe to try. Tourniquet on........much pumping of the hand (note to self, perhaps long nails are no longer a good idea - they dig into your palms when pumping!!!)......and nada, nowt, zip - ok a the amount you get if you prick yourself with a pin!!!!!! Nurse gets on the phone "is Cheryl around?" Cheryl apparently has 12 years experience and can deal with the most "difficult" of patients........"oh, in that case can Barbara pop in" - I like Barb, she has been at the practice since we moved to the development and has given all my babies their immunisations and pre-school jabs etc.....she has even "syringed" my ears twice. Barb walks in and says "hello trouble, good job I like a challenge!" I think I am beginning to get a reputation and after only two weeks LOL "have you got any baby bottles Claire" - pardon???? "not drinking bottles, we'd never get that much out of you, baby bloodtest bottles, they are smaller".......great, already being treated like baby lol Having already got a plaster on now my defunct right arm, gorgeous greeny blue bruise from last Wednesday on right hand - its going to be the left hand. I will admit, it quite hurt this time but I sucked it in and let the blood out......enough to fill two baby bottles anyway. I could see the vein "bubbling" and Barb says "don't tell anyone I did this, tell them Claire did it, cos you're gonna have a beautiful bruise there"..........she wasn't wrong.....its colouring up nicely. I am now having to avoid certain clothes so I don't colour clash!!!! Popped into Tesco's, made it home without puffing or stopping - wohooooooooo marathon next, ok ok lets not get carried away here! Did the usual icky "domestic stuff" and when Tony got home we headed off to Cosco's at Enfield to buy all the BBQ stuff for the Karate Association we belong to. Its the last day of summer school and it always finishes with a party. We got home pretty late from there - almost 8pm so we grabbed a McDonald's thats twice this month - ewwwwww Walked the dogs over the common and let both off their leads, oh it was so sweet to watch Ollie follow Dexter, he hasn't got much confidence and runs back to "mummy" all the time - I love it of course. We were told by the breeder when we got Dexter that they should NOT be let off leads unless in a secure field as Border Terriers will chase anything "small and furry" and "go deaf". I was paranoid about letting him off and even now I don't trust him, so I don't want Ollie being the same and starting from an early age! Watched TV as the internet went down. OK hubby on way home to collect me for the BBQ and to take the grading photos.......gotta skidaddle. Thought for today: Life is something to do when you can't get to sleep. Fran Lebowitz
