Evening All,
Ollie had a terrible night, Tony took him back downstairs till gone midnight and let me sleep. I was up, bathed, dressed and cooking Pillsbury Croissants ready for Lara's birthday breakfast by 6.45am. Lara was up early for once in her life - can't think why LOL
Watched her open her cards and count her money and it was off to the doctors for me. Tony and I sat and sat and listened to the women having a laugh behind the closed screen before finally I was called round. The nurse looks at the lovely "burple bruise" on my right arm from last Wednesday and decides she doesn't want to try that one again. So tourniquet on and much pumping of the hand and she "thinks" she has found a vein. Needle in - nothing out!!!!!!
Nurse goes out and brings in Barbara, senior nurse. She looks at the "burple bruise" and says "ok its outta the hand then"..........some canula type thing with a hose pipe.......sorry rubber pipe attached is inserted painfully into back of right hand and I manage to bleed over both nurses, the cushion and a bit on the floor as the connection between pipe and vial was not very good.
As a regular blood donor I know my veins were deep, but as Dev told me today its not uncommon for them to try and hibernate during treatment......but this bloody hurt and my hand as we say in Essex is "well sore". Kissed Tony goodbye at the docs as he went onto work and I walked into Tesco's and bought the obligatory sweets for Lara to take to school. Home in time to give her a kiss goodbye and slip a decorated gingerbread biscuit into her lunchbox.
Now for the good bit......my beads arrived...oh they are gorgeous but dangerously I was given a 15% loyalty discount to be used by July 20th........hmmmm I think a little more browsing might be in order LOL
I opened my graphics programme for the first time in a while today and created two birthday posters using "scrap kits" for Lara...one in pink on the front door and one in blue/teal on the sidegate to cover all options.
Once all the kids were home from school and Lara opened a few more pressies from friends etc, we set off to buy her netbook. She put her birthday money towards and Mum & Dad forked out the other £150!!!!!!! Back home and ordered a chinese - Lara's favourite - and we were joined by my younger sister Sharon (yes yes she really is Sharon from Essex LOL). Much of the evening was spent setting her up on Facebook (even tho she isn't 13 but ALL MY FRIENDS HAVE GOT IT) and her email address etc etc.
She went to bed very happy and thanked us for a lovely birthday - you're welcome darling
Ollie is asleep and my hand hurts to type much more so its an early night for me also.

The beads are.....for want of a better word, a modern version on the old charm bracelet. They make slide on glass (beautiful) silver and gold beads and some charms. You can make a story bracelet or just throw some on. My sister bought me it and started me with 4...my intention was that with every piece of good news I would buy another bead.........but.......I decided just to look.......and hey presto a few more were delivered yesterday to cheer me up LOL
I missed buying my middle sister her 40th birthday present due to hospital this year and she keeps telling me to wait........think I might get her one too.....good excuse to keep buying (and swapping LOL).
Lara had a fab birthday thank you.....wonder if I will be able to get her up, she stayed up till10pm!!!
As you can see........Ollie has had me up since 6am again the little sod. Cuppa tea time!
