Question everything and ask for copies of letters

Less than one minute read time.

Having had a chance to read my dad's letters from the hospitals, all the answers to the questions are there, just that my parents didn't understand the technical jargon and never asked the consultant to explain them. They expected the consultant to tell them verbally all what they needed to understand.

My dad has a critical life cover policy, which we are making a claim on, so I asked my mum for my dads letters from the hospital so that I could do the paperwork for her and complete the claim form.

All I wanted to say was when you get the letters from the hospital, read them, and take them to your appointments to get the consultant to explain what they contain if you don't understand.

If you don't get letters, then I believe that you should ask for them, as they contain a lot of information. Which you should either google or ask what is meant if you don't understand.
